Roma
directed by Alfonso Cuarón, Mexico/USA 2018, 135'
Roma is the most personal film of the Oscar-winning director and screenwriter Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Children of Men, And Your Mother Too). It tells the story of Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio), a young servant working in the middle-class Roma district in Mexico City. In this film full of artistry and love, Cuarón writes a letter to the women who have brought him up and paints a lively and moving picture of the domestic tensions and changes in the social hierarchy on the background of the political chaos of the 1970s.
