Abner Preis (The Netherlands)

Abner Preis

(born in 1975) lives and works in Amsterdam since 2005. He earned an MFA from the Dutch Art Institute in 2014 in the Netherlands. As an artist, he creates interactive public performances and mixed-media works, in which the central aspect is the concept of traditional story-telling. The main focus of his stories lay in popular culture and our societies ever changing morality, rules and regulations.

Preis works both independently and in collaboration with The Dogs of Shame and The Dogs of Sky collectives. He has presented his works and performed in many institutions, including Showroom Mama, Art Amsterdam, IFFR (International Film Festival Rotterdam), Dordrechts Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art., Leto Gallery. He has been the artist-in-residence in several residencies in Rotterdam, Vienna Berlin.
