Björn Hegardt (Norway)

Björn Hegardt

is working within the fields of drawing and installation, he is an editor-in-chief of FUKT magazine. Hegardt founded the editorial project FUKT magazine in the year 2000. It is a means to create an "intimate" space for presentation and reflection on contemporary drawing in form of printed matter. FUKT collaborates with the group of contemporary artists and writers becoming an exhibition in the form of magazine. Graphic design is made by Ariane Spanier. During his residency at artists-in-residence laboratory at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art Hegardt will research Polish art scene and as a result he will publish a new issue of the magazine which will be launched in the form of the exhibition at the Laboratory building of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art. Björn Hegardt is drawing depopulated, surreal spaces, bringing together utopian architecture and everyday objects. In 2005 his works were included in Vitamin D, Phaidon’s publication presenting the most interresting contemporary drawing artists. He lives and works in Berlin.
