Dominik Ritszel (Poland)

  • Dominik Ritszel
    • (b. 1988) is a graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts (Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice), he considers himself a film and video artist. The narrative of his work is built with images. Ritszel records, observes, and at times, peeps at existing and arranged situations. He creates psychological portraits of groups as well as individuals, often located in anonymous spaces brimming with disturbing silence. Dominik Ritszel was awarded the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage scholarship in 2014 and is also the winner of the third edition of the contest from the Gray House Foundation in 2013, in which the jury praised him for his “courage and the ability to originally use a poetic and metaphysical language for extracting important details from the layers of daily routine.

  • During his residency at A-I-R Laboratory he works on a new video which will be presented as part of {Bank Pekao Project Room} series.
