Open Studio

  • Artists in residence and the U–jazdowski team invite to the Open Studio. It is a unique opportunity to visit residents in spaces in which they work, to get to know their artistic practices and projects which they realise during their artistic stays at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art. Visits are possible by appointment only.

  • Juan Duque (Colombia/Belgium)
    • During his residency at Ujazdowski he researches the urban landscape of Warsaw and carries out physical negotiations with space, objects, architecture and other bodies. He is preparing an installation in the park in front of the Ujazdowski Castle which will be on view as part of Jazdów City Garden.

  • Karolina Ferenc (Poland)
    • During her residency at U–jazdowski she created a paralaboratory in the Cistern in front of the Ujazdowski Castle, where she experiments with the soil. The intent of the project is to show in an interesting and inspiring way the most important features of the living soil. During the Museum Night on 19/05/2018 she will lead a workshop for families with children and a walk in the park.

  • Christopher Füllemann (Switzerland)
    • Artist living and working in Zurich and London. He spends his residency in Warsaw on collaborative work in the area of sculpture and installation.

  • Karol Tymiński (Poland)
    • Choreographer and performer. In his works he treats a body as an object and as an instrument. He experiments with corporal limits and processes. During his residency, performed as part of Feedback: giving and assuming form project,  he is working on a new piece Gardener which will be presented on 26/05/2018 and 27/05/2018 at U–jazdowski.

  • Werker Collective (Marc Blesa and Rogier Delfos) (Netherlands)
    • Artistic duo from Amsterdam is engaged in an ongoing research on representation of work and amateur documentaries. In April and May they organised Queer 2 Peer Cine Club in the Workspace, a new space at the Ujazdowski Castle on the ground floor, behind the bookshop. Four sessions are dedicated to the following aspects of queer reality: housing and care, family, professional life, mass media, sport, revolution and desire.

  • Maria Zimpel (Poland)
    • Dancer and choreographer. In her research she examines the limits of physicality. She is interested in unusual relations between sound and movement. During her residency performed as part of Feedback: giving and assuming form project, she is working on a new piece Body and fiction which will be on view at U–jazdowski on 23/05/2018 and 24/05/2018.

  • Ania Nowak (Poland)
    • Artist working on the verge of performative and visual arts. Her choreographic practice approaches vulnerability and desire as ways towards reimagining what bodies and language can do. She researches love as a strategy of generating knowledge with a focus on affective economies of care and companionship, and redefining sensuality. During her residency performed as part of Feedback: giving and assuming form project, she is working on a new piece Ohne Titel 3. Unfortunately on the day of the Open Studio the artist will not be able to meet with the visitors. She invites to her performance on 26/05/2018 and 27/05/2018 at U–jazdowski.

  • Kem (Poland)
    • Kem is a feminist and queer space focused on new methods and strategies of choreography and performance. In 2018 their interests will be developed during a special artistic residency as part of the performative programme at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art.
