  • The catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition Slow Future presented at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art. Show brought together artists whose work relates to the motion of Degrowth.

  • Degrowth is a political, economical and social movement based on the principles of anti-capitalism, anti-consumerism and sustainability. Degrowth thinkers and activists defend alternative social and economical patterns such as: barter, cooperatives, co-ownership, community exchange, recycling, squatting, as well as eco technologies and transport.

  • “Fragility crushed by heaviness is a strong and straightforward symbolic statement against the economic and political systems and their representatives. Like the butterfly re-strained by the piece of coal, the future generations will inevitably suffer from the economic and industrial growth swallowing the present, unless we are able to intervene in the process. (Katia Krupennikova)
