Waiting for Another Coming
The Contemporary Art Centre from Vilnius and the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art are realizing a joint collective exhibition for the first time. The pretext for the meeting of these two largest interdisciplinary centers of contemporary art in the Baltic countries is the hundredth anniversary of Poland’s and Lithuania’s regaining of independence. The exhibition will be presented in two shows: first in Vilnius and then in Warsaw. Polish and Lithuanian artists were invited to the project, and contemporary art presented by them is treated as a tool for reflection on the social condition, economic challenges and development perspectives for local cultures. The exhibition is accompanied by a rich discursive and performative program and publication.
