Marta Hryniuk
Marta Hryniuk – visual artist, filmmaker and researcher. She creates films and video installations. She works in a long-term collaboration with Nick Thomas. They are interested in non-didactic film forms and radical audiovisual practices. In their work, they seek alternatives to dominant structures, which are often found on the periphery – in places that escape mainstream attention. She co-founded WET–a collective and space in Rotterdam dedicated to practices at the intersection of experimental film and video. She co-directs and curates the programme for the Field Recordings film festival. She is involved in activist work in collaboration with the Ukrainian collective Freefilmers.
Marta Hryniuk’s residency is taking place as part of her collaboration in a duo with Marta Romankiv.
