Decoding the Collection – Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art

Decoding the Collection presents works by students that were created in response to inspiration drawn from, and direct dialogue with, artworks held in the Open Storage of the Collection of Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary.

The project's starting point was an in-depth study of the contexts in which selected works from the Collection were created — their formal and conceptual layers, as well as the biographies and artistic practices of the artists.

As a result, the participants selected works to which they attempted to create their own visual response, building relationships based on interpretation, tension, association, or conscious continuity.
