Robert Eggers, the visionary director of the masterpiece horror film The Witch, returns with a mesmerizing tale about two lighthouse keepers (Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson) working on a mysterious remote island in New England in the 1890s. They both face loneliness and seclusion during a great storm that seems endless. Condemned to fight with their own strong wills and needs as well as with the mysterious force that circulates over them – they begin to go mad.
