Open Storage

Study our collection in depth

Open Storage is a space where visitors can get acquainted with a selection of contemporary artworks from the Collection of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art. Across three specially arranged rooms, a new warehouse has been created where visitors may see the objects up close and discuss them.

Open Storage contains over one hundred unique objects – paintings, sculptures, and installations – by well-established and young artists from Poland and abroad. These include, among others: Jacek Adamas, Paweł Althamer, Eric Andersen, Krzysztof M. Bednarski, Martin Creed, Edward Dwurnik, Aneta Grzeszykowska, Thomas Hirschhorn, Zuzanna Janin, Marek Kijewski, Joseph Kosuth and Ilya Kabakow, Małgorzata Mirga-Tas, Roman Opałka, Joanna Rajkowska, Jadwiga Sawicka, Roman Stańczak, Paweł Susid, and Krzysztof Zarębski. The majority of these artworks have already been exhibited at the Ujazdowski Castle. In this sense, they provide an interesting link between the institution’s history and the ongoing curatorial and educational programme.

A series of intimate conversations with artists and events devoted to selected artworks of art and the contexts of their creation is planned. Small, organized groups are welcome as well as individual guests, including specialists in contemporary art, curators, and students of art history. In this case, please contact curator Ewa Gorządek: e.gorzadek@u-jazdowski.pl.
