Leader Lars of the Synthetic Party
Created in 2022, Leader Lars is a chatbot and leading figure of the Danish Synthetic Party, which uses large language models to synthesise political opinions. Drawing on the discourse of over 200 micro-parties that have not entered parliament since 1970, Lars’s AI programme gives a voice to Danish voters without representation, aiming to express the views of the 20% who do not vote. With global media reach and 24/7 availability on social media platforms such as Discord, Lars goes beyond critique—actively building global coalitions across political systems to empower all those considered under-resourced in democracy.
