{U–jazdowski in PJM}
We invite you to a guided tour of the Open Storage and workshop on creating textile collages. The event will be led by Paulina Gojtka.
During the guided tour, we will visit the Open Storage, a space where you can see selected works of Contemporary Art at the U–jazdowski Collection includes various works: paintings, sculptures and installations. This is an opportunity to have a closer look at them and learn the stories behind their creation.
After the tour, there will be an artistic workshop, during which we will create textile collages inspired by the works of Małgorzata Mirga-Tas. The collage technique will allow us to combine various elements such as textiles, paints, paper in a new context.
From the host:
I am a deaf interpreter and a student of the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw, majoring in Polish Sign Language Philology.
For me, art is more than words. It is everywhere, you just need to want to see it in your own way. In every art, you can discover beauty within yourself, and culture teaches us to be open to all possibilities.
I am happy to invite you to a guided tour and workshops, during which we will experience the world of art together.
I invite you with sunshine!
[The event will not be translated into Polish. We invite people communicating in Polish sign language].
Photo description:
The textile collage by Małgorzata Mirgi-Tas Miri Phuri Daj, presents a family scene. In the center sits a several-year-old child in red clothes. In front of him stands a bowl and two hens. Behind him sits a woman in a blue scarf, holding a small child dressed in a floral outfit. On the left side stands a woman in a colorful skirt, who is scattering seeds. She is visible from the waist. The third hen is on the right side. The middle and right parts of the background are decorated with patterned fabric. Dark fragments are painted closer to the right side of the background. The elements of the work are made of beads and textiles. Some parts such as faces, hands, legs, floor and background are painted. The painting is surrounded by a red frame with fringes. The artist combines recycled materials to create a story about Roma culture and the role of women. The work is part of the U–jazdowski Collection Studio Magazine.
