Alcarràs – Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art

A story filled with the nostalgic aura of the end of summer and, more broadly, of a small world coming to an end, disappearing in the face of advancing civilization. In the Golden Bear–winning Alcarràs, we follow the lights and shadows of daily life in a multi-generational family from the eponymous village, which faces the loss of its farm.

The intimate Alcarràs goes beyond the confines of a family portrait, also drawing our attention to pressing contemporary issues. The calm of provincial life is irrevocably disturbed by the aggressive intrusion of technological progress. In the face of these events, the characters must make a choice that will determine their future.
