The Quiet Son
Pierre, 50, is raising two sons on his own. They are very close to each other. The youngest, Louis, is about to leave home to attend university in Paris. The slightly older Fus is becoming increasingly withdrawn. Fascinated by violence, he begins to get involved with far-right extremist groups, which is unacceptable to his father. They share a lot, but they are also divided by love and hate, until tragedy strikes.
The Quiet Son is an adaptation of Laurent Petitmangin’s novel Ce qu’il faut de nuit. It is a gripping story about family, relationships, and extreme choices that can turn into tragedy. The film raises crucial questions about raising children, the values and patterns we pass on, and the social influences on individuals. It reflects on how far parents can go to protect their children from mistakes that could shape the course of their lives.
