Scrapper

An energetic, funny and moving story about a father and daughter relationship, which won the Grand Jury Prize for the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival.
Although Georgie is only twelve, she is able to cope under any circumstances. After the death of her mother, she pretends to live with her uncle. She earns a living by stealing bicycles with her closest pal Ali. Living in the suburbs of London, she can’t fully trust anyone. When her long-lost father suddenly appears at her doorstep, Georgie does not give him a warm welcome. Slowly, the characters – played humorously by Lola Campbell and Harris Dickinson (star of Ruben Ostlund’s Triangle of Sadness) – start getting used to each other and grow closer. The result is a wacky and charming tale of childhood’s most important relationships.
