Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person
Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person is a phenomenal dark comedy that has already received nineteen awards and over twenty nominations, including four trophies at last year’s Venice International Film Festival.
Quebec-born Sasha (played by the award-winning Sara Montpetit) appears to be a teenager struggling with the typical problems of her age. Nothing could be further from the truth, as the protagonist is… a young vampire. She is empathetic and sensitive, and therefore not ready to bite into human arteries to satisfy her hunger.
The girl is quite a disappointment for her family, who, apart from the vampiric secret, lead a very quiet, orderly and inconspicuous life. Lacking instinct and the ability to hunt, the only blood Sasha is able to drink is that from the plastic bags in the fridge. When her exasperated parents cut off this source, Sasha’s very life is in danger. Luckily, the girl meets Paul, a lonely teenager with suicidal tendencies, who, in the name of their growing friendship, is willing to give up his life just to save the girl.
