Familiar to CCA’s visitors through her 2018 Amos’ World, presented in 2019 as part of P.TV., Cécile B. Evans is a visionary filmmaker, whose conceptual works demand a high level of empathy and erudition from the viewers.
What the Heart Wants is a non-linear narrative, whose main protagonist named HYPER explores a new kind of reality – where past, present and future have merged within a (cyber)space, and the personal and the institutional are hard to distinguish from one another. Information reigns supreme over these vast scapes, but the myriad characters that populate this world, though distinct from each other, ultimately pursue a single goal: to be known and to work together.
