Ghost Town Anthology
-
[Répertoire des villes disparues], directed by Denis Côté, Canada 2019, 97
- Denis Côté – known to U–jazdowski cinema goers for Bestiaire and other film experiments – returns with a feature film about ghosts. When one of the inhabitants of a small, sleepy town dies in a car accident, things start to happen which the inhabitants can not explain. Côté, with this film – at the same time dreamy and electrifying – reminds us of the still unexplored possibilities of film. Does there exist a better medium to discuss both death and memory, as well as cinema itself? After all, every film is about ghosts, isn’t it?
