Ghost Town Anthology

as part of Every film is a ghost story film review

  • Ghost Town Anthology
  • [Répertoire des villes disparues], directed by Denis Côté, Canada 2019, 97
    • Denis Côté known to Ujazdowski cinema goers for Bestiaire and other film experiments returns with a feature film about ghosts. When one of the inhabitants of a small, sleepy town dies in a car accident, things start to happen which the inhabitants can not explain. Côté, with this film at the same time dreamy and electrifying reminds us of the still unexplored possibilities of film. Does there exist a better medium to discuss both death and memory, as well as cinema itself? After all, every film is about ghosts, isnt it?
