Princess Mononoke
The breathtaking Princess Mononoke takes viewers to a world of forest creatures, demons and magic. This pro-environmental animation by Hayao Miyazaki asks questions about human relationship with the environment, the violence inherent in nature or the boundaries between good and evil.
Long ago, when nature was still untamed and the land was inhabited by deities in animal forms, the young warrior Ashitaka was struck by a deadly curse from a demonic boar. Hoping to find a cure, the man embarks on a long journey to a mysterious forest. He is soon drawn into a conflict between the ambitious Lady Eboshi, who rules Iron Town, and the brave Princess Mononoke, a girl raised by wolves who will do anything to stop humans from destroying the forest. Which will win: human greed, progress or nature?
Visually captivating, Princess Mononoke is an exquisite tale of the clash between civilisation and the forces of nature, considered one of the milestones of modern animation. The film made Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli famous, gaining it new fans worldwide.
Film with Polish subtitles for viewers aged 13 and over.
