[Ilegitim], directed by Adrian Sitaru, Romania/Poland 2016, 89'
Awarded the CICAE (one of the jurors was Michał Matuszewski) in Berlin. The subject (the family as a pars pro toto of Romanian settlements with the past) of this Romanian film is just as important as the way in which it was created – Illegitimate is the effect of acting workshops. There is as much Romanian new wave here as in Lars von Trier's early films.
