An Evening with Chaplin
Long Night of Museums
-
As part of the Long Night of Museums, on 13/05/2023 we invite you to spend the evening in the company of the legendary vagabond who changed the history of cinema.
- Many associate Charlie Chaplin mostly with the character of the clumsy but sweet tramp who, wearing a tight jacket, baggy trousers and an inseparable bowler hat, tirelessly faces the challenges of bad luck, proving that a sense of humour is a means of overcoming even the greatest difficulties.
- Behind the on-screen loser, however, was an exceptionally talented filmmaker: in addition to his unforgettable acting, Charles Chaplin was also the director, scriptwriter, editor, producer and even soundtrack composer in most of his work. Almost a century after their premiere, his films are still considered masterpieces of silent cinema that entertain and deeply move generations of viewers.
- As part of the Long Night of Museums, we invite you to a unique opportunity to spend an entire evening in the company of the unlucky tramp and watch his adventures on the big screen. An Evening with Chaplin will begin with a set of short films, followed by one of his most acclaimed films, The Gold Rush.
