Tomek Paszkowicz
-
Would you like to talk about art that looks closely at everyday life, labour, and the mechanisms shaping contemporary society? On 17 June, we invite you to Pracownia for a meeting with Tomek Paszkowicz — an artist and curator based in Warsaw whose practice focuses on the circulation of information, the construction of narratives, and the formation of working-class identity.
- In his work, Paszkowicz uses found objects, works by other artists, and his own artistic productions. His practice moves between artistic research, ephemeral and post-artistic practices, as well as the traditional media of drawing and painting. He is interested in how art can inspire change and influence social reality.
- Paszkowicz studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studios of, among others, Aneta Grzeszykowska, Dominika Olszowy, Mirosław Bałka, and Jan Mioduszewski. He is a member of the collectives Umysł Biedaka and Sen o Końcu.
- His work has been presented at institutions including Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko, and Łęctwo Gallery in Poznań. His works are held in private and public collections in Poland and abroad.
- Alongside his artistic practice, he works as a curator at the Wola Cultural Centre, where he co-develops the programme of the Wola Gallery of Contemporary Art.
- The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss Tomek Paszkowicz’s artistic practice, the relationship between art and social reality, and the ways narratives can be constructed through artistic activity.

- Every week, we meet live with artists to talk about art: creative processes, works, and current experiences.
- We host both artists who have previously taken part in Ujazdowski Castle’s programme and those making their debut. In this series, we would like to focus on individual approaches and artistic practices.
- Every week, we meet live with artists to talk about art: creative processes, works, and current experiences.
- Why take part?
- The events will be recorded for archival purposes, and the recordings will be made available online through the Mediateka.
- In times of tensions and crises, thinking and talking together about contemporary art – which responds to today’s challenges in unconventional ways – helps strengthen social resilience. Art is not only the object – just as important are the process, the thinking, the emotions, and the relationships that accompany it. The meetings offer a closer look at how art is created and, most importantly, who creates it.
- The events will be recorded for archival purposes, and the recordings will be made available online through the Mediateka.
- The meetings are open to everyone, from people working professionally in culture and art, to those who are curious about artists and their work, or simply want to talk about art.
- We do our best to make the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art accessible to everyone – we would like to adapt the event to you and your needs. To help us do that, please contact our accessibility coordinator: dostepnosc@u-jazdowski.pl, no later than the Monday before the event.
