Manipulation in the information space

  • We invite employees of cultural institutions to a lecture by Anna Mierzyńska on the phenomenon of manipulation in the information space. The meeting will focus on how such messages are constructed, how they influence the perception of reality, and how they shape public opinion. The speaker will also discuss how through content analysis, mindset, and everyday practices institutions and individuals can protect themselves against them.
  • Anna Mierzyńska
    • social media analyst and information threat expert. She specializes in researching Russian influence operations and online manipulation. She is the author of the book "The Destructive Effect: How Disinformation Affects Our Lives" and co-author of the chapter "When Citizens Distrust the Government: The Popularity of Conspiracy Theories as a Sign of State Crisis" in the publication "Beyond the Flat Earth: Conspiracy Theories and European Liberals" (European Liberal Forum, 2021) and the guide "Disinformation: How to Protect Yourself Against It" published by the Orange Foundation (2022).
