Artists Live on the Border of Two Worlds
Exhibition of works from the Collection of The Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art at the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf
The Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf, The Polish Institute Düsseldorf and The Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art invite you to the exhibition Artists Live on the Border of Two Worlds. The exhibition at the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf is on view from 04/08.
The selection of works by polish artists from the collection of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art was made with the use of the eponymous key of existence at the junction of two worlds. This is also how the works can be interpreted: in a broader context, as existing at the intersection of various media and techniques, but also existing at the intersection of fiction and reality, different historical experiences and different languages. It is a journey with outstanding artists who share their own personal experiences, assessments and traumas. The motif accompanying selected works is this mediation with oneself as well as unsettled stories, which are still alive among artists to this day.
Artists whose works are, among others, present at the exhibition: Andrzej Dłużniewski, Jacek Dłużewski, Jadwiga Sawicka, Ignacy Czwartos, Zenon Cyplik-Olejniczak, Krzysztof Jung, Marek Chlanda, Wojciech Prażmowski, Zbigniew Warpechowski and Jacek Adamas.
