Works purchased for the Collection in 2024

Martin Creed Feelings, Things

The Collection of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art was started in 1985. Created in close connection with the institution’s original statute and programme and reflecting the Centre’s mission, the collection owes its rapid growth in the 1990s and 2000s as well as its unique character to the direction given to the institution by its then director Wojciech Krukowski, the actual curator of the artistic collections from 1997 onwards.

Currently, the Collection includes nearly 3,000 works, usually created after 1960 and representing both traditional and contemporary media: painting, drawing, graphics, collage, sculpture, installation, photography, video, sound, interactive, and multimedia.

In 2024, two works by the British artist Martin Creed were purchased for the Collection: Feelings and Things.

The purchase of the works for the Collection of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in 2024 was co-funded the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the National Collection of Contemporary Art programme.
