Layers
Layers, an exhibition by Konrad Dobrucki, inaugurates the 2022/2023 season of the {Project Room} series of presentations of young artists, who are given the opportunity to stage an individual show at one of Poland’s most prestigious contemporary art institutions.
The 2022/2023 {Project Room} season will continue with exhibitions by Daniel Dąbrowski, Jagoda Strączek, Zuzanna Srebrna, Kolektyw Tarta, and Agata Żołądź – Yolik Nal.
The shortlisted artists have been selected from among candidates who responded to the open call by a jury consisting of: Krystyna Różańska-Gorgolewska, Curator, Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle (president); Stanisław Brach, Professor, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw; Rafał Łubowski, Professor, University of the Arts in Poznań; and Grzegorz Wnęk, Professor, Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.
Konrad Dobrucki
(b. 1991) graduated in Philosophy from the University of Warsaw. After spending many years in Iceland, he has been based in Warsaw since 2020. His main practice is documentary, based on long-term work with a protagonist or a theme. Expressing himself through analog photography and collage, Dobrucki is interested above all in describing the individual through their surroundings, architecture, habits, and products. A graduate of the 2020/2021 Sputnik Photos Mentoring Programme, he is currently studying Photography at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań.
