Dostrzec inny wymiar
Dostrzec inny wymiar [To Notice Another Dimension] is a richly illustrated monograph dedicated to the Crossroads International Festival of Performing Arts, one of the most enduring events of its kind in Poland. It also serves as a guide to groundbreaking developments in contemporary theatre and dance at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The talk will be conducted by Joanna Szymajda, PhD, dance researcher, curator and critic. The book’s author, Janusz Marek, who has curated the performing arts programme at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw since 1993, and every edition of the festival since 1994, will take part in the event.
A screening of a film about the participation of butō dancer Kazuo Ohno from Japan in the first edition of the Crossroads Festival in 1994 will also take place. Ohno is considered one of the two founders of the butō dance genre.
The event is part of the Crossroads Festival 2025. During the festival, the book is available at a special price of 100 zł.
