Velvet flowers & melting views
Velvet flowers & melting views is a photobook by Monika Proniewska and Marta Szewczyk published by the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art and Magic Wands as part of the Opening Up! project.
The book launch will be accompanied by a presentation of an audio-visual work inspired by the aesthetics of the artbook. The leading motifs of the abstract, analogue video work by Monika Proniewska and Marta Szewczyk are flowers, lights and colourful gradient compositions, which, thanks to movement, bring to life the visual experience of the photographs published in the book. The projection will be complemented by Zoi Michailova's original sound composition, played live. The musical layer will include elements of field recording, subtle ASMR details, choral harmonies, delicate pulsations and minimalist soundscapes. The scenography of the event will consist of flower compositions created by Node Studio.
