- The photobook Velvet flowers & melting views presents a selection of photos by Monika Proniewska and Marta Szewczyk, creators of the Magic Wands art collective. It refers to the issues of memories, memory and unreal spaces. Intuitively juxtaposed, analog photographs refer to the sensual impressions collected over the last few years. Objects taken out of their original context, often resised and blurred, create a collective dream in which the boundaries between personal and shared experience are blurred. Places and objects gain a poetic-surrealistic dimension here. The photos are accompanied by a text by Maria Karpińska.
- Book launch will take place on 27 March 2025, 19:00–21:00 at the Workspace in the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art. It will be accompanied by a projection of a film by Monika Proniewska and Marta Szewczyk and by a sound composition played live by Zoi Michailova. Admission is free.
- This book has been published by the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art and Magic Wands as part of the project Opening Up! financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland.
