Making New Worlds Instead of Forgetting About It exhibition catalogue presents over thirty video works from the collection of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art. It contains texts by the curator of the exhibition, Ewa Gorządek, and Ryszard W. Kluszczyński, curator of experimental film, video art and new media at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in the years 1990–2001.
The International Collection of Contemporary Art, the foundations for which were laid in the early 1990s under the leadership of Director Wojciech Krukowski, largely stems from the institution’s programme of temporary exhibitions. It serves as a kind of archive of the Centre’s ongoing activities over the past thirty years. Many of the works presented at this exhibition and during screenings at our cinema were produced in-house as part of programming projects over the years.
