(b. 1975, Surabaya) lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

He is a founding member and researcher at the Kunci Cultural Studies Center and also a fellow researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Multiculturalism and Pluralism Studies (Impulse). He studied history (Lembaga Studi Realino, Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta) and philosophy (Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta).

Besides working on several research and art projects with KUNCI Cultural Studies Center, for several years now he has been researching art collectivism and art education in Asia. He is the author of Art Collectivism in the Japanese-occupied Indonesia, which will be published next year (April 2016, Kyushu University Press).

At the moment, he is working on a new research project on Sanggar (art collective) and Taman Siswa — the first Indonesian school in 1920’s, which combined the idea of modern education, family life, art and nationalism.
