Philipp Messner
born in Bolzano, graduated at Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna by Michelangelo Pistoletto. The central topic of Messner’s work is an analysis of human perception. Huge objects in a space are concentrated on symbolic forms and their function. Simultaneously artist plays with the observer and his way of seeing by involving in an art piece elements which build subtle tension between fiction and reality. Currently Philipp Messner lives and works in Munich where he opened a low-budget project and exhibition space.
During his residency at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art the artist will work on a solo exhibition in Gallery Foksal which will take place in the 1st half of 2011.
