Gosia Kępa
Residency as part of the Common Field project.
Gosia Kępa (born 1997) comes from Świdnica in Lower Silesia. Photographer, visual artist, a graduate of Social Psychology at the SWPS University in Warsaw and Photography at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznań. She also studied at the University of Rijeka and the University of Lisbon.
In her artistic practice, she works in various media — including photography, objects, drawing and performance. She is interested in relationality in the broadest sense, dealing with issues of identity and coexistence. She finds inspiration in nature, which not only moves her but also evokes admiration for its organic forms. The theme of soil is something she frequently returns to in her works. Since 2022, she has been passionately exploring aquatic themes. As part of the ongoing project speak to me river (since 2023), she collaborates with and talks to rivers. She creates the project in the spirit of river democracy, giving voice to minor waterways.
