Kara Walker
Kara Walker‘s cut-outs are a settlement with a post-colonial past and a racist present. The artist is critical of the representation of the black body in Euro-American art history, presenting different variants of stories from the lives of Afro-Americans. The book contains essays on the work of Kara Walker written by Katarzyna Bojarska, Steel Stillman, Philippe Vergne, a conversation with the artist, and ample illustrative material.
