Karolina Brzuzan
Noma

In her Bank Pekao Project Room exhibition, Karolina Brzuzan utilizes sculpture and performative actions to further develop her research into the Starvation Cookbook. The works possess their own origins in the history of great famines, their formal minimalist aesthetics corresponding with the existential minimum of those who experienced them. The artist is trying to attain information on how the people living in such extreme conditions obtain the food they eat to survive. The subject of her inquiry is thus famine as a political phenomenon, as a ’weapon of mass destruction.‘
