The Residents #8
The Residents magazine stems from the need to discover the work of the otherwise invisible residents of the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, artists coming from different parts of the world, working in various mediums.
The eighth issue of the magazine is a record of conversations with residents who worked with U–jazdowski during the difficult year 2020. Rémi Dufay and Noor Abed completed their residencies, but continued their stays in 2021. Rémi‘s residence was interrupted by another lockdown in November 2020, and he visited Warsaw again in the spring 2021 during the period of increased restrictions. Noor also returned to Warsaw in late spring 2021, in preparation for the Everyday Forms of Resistance exhibition, where she presented her work. Amado Cabrales and Fotini Lazaridou-Hatzigoga were online residents. The four interviews introduce artists who are involved in social activities, believe in art‘s agency, and whose fields of activity include a variety of media and spaces.
