This publication presents Wojciech Gilewicz‘s photographic series of double self-portraits, Them. Gilewicz looks at himself through the eyes of his own alter ego. The pictures show two men in everyday, often intimate situations. The photographs can be read on many different levels of interpretation – as a present-day version of the Narcissus story, as a narrative about unfulfillment, or about homoerotic love. At the same time, these pictures touch upon the issue of blurring the boundaries between reality and its artistic representation.
