technomeditations

technomeditations are neither a new project nor my own. Inspired by the ideas of Frédéric Gies, I wanted to explore and expand the relationship between our energy states (and the functioning of the glands and hormones underlying them, as well as the activity of the nervous system) and trance movement, sound stimulation, and the experience of collectivity, says Andrzej Woźniak, the facilitator of the technomeditations.

The classes will have a specific structure:

  • after the opening circle, we will spend 10 minutes in a gentle, guided meditation in silence, which will later be followed by the accompaniment of music, which serves as a sort of warm-up before the actual set - the goal of this part is to recognize our state, make space for sensations, and prepare for movement;
  • for the next 60 minutes, we will move to techno music, at any tempo and frequency;
  • the final part, lasting approximately 30 minutes, will be a time to calm down - depending on the individual's preference, it will take the form of a paired practice (called cellular breathing) or an individual practice (based on my suggestions).

We will start and end with a circle.

Clear rules will apply during the technomeditations to ensure the safety of the practice:

  • we do not participate under the influence of any substances
  • we dance solo, and if we wish to engage in physical contact with someone, we ensure (verbally) that the other person consents
  • we dance barefoot
  • we rest whenever we wish
  • we do not talk in space
  • we respect the practice and experience of others

technomeditations do not aspire to be developmental, transgressive, shamanic, or therapeutic practice. They are addressed to all individuals who enjoy intense movement, need to unburden themselves, and are interested in anatomy, physiology, trance, and the experience of safe collectiveness. Stress reduction may, but does not have to, be a result of this practice. I am a facilitator, not a therapist, and therefore ask each person to take responsibility for their own participation in the practice. Hypersensitivity to sound or the number of stimuli may be a contraindication to participation.

Admission is free.
