Youth Unstoppable
directed by Slater Jewell-Kemker, Canada 2018, 87' (English friendly)
- When 15-year-old Slater Jewell-Kemker began working on this documentary, she certainly did not expect to finish a full decade later. She spent that period with a camera in hand, brimming with determination and traveling the world to various UN climate summits while documenting the life of young activists. For them, climate change is not just stories in the news, but equally often it is the alarming daily life of their home towns and villages. Jewell-Kemker’s film unusually saliently shows that we can still save our planet, but that it will require the collective effort of each and every one of us, along with bold political decisions that rise above particular political interests of the world’s wealthiest nations.
