MORNINGS IN MOTION
Body in reconstruction

Open movement classes with Weronika Pelczyńska
  • Morning sessions will focus on awakening the body through dance as a practice of strengthening, regulating energy, and conscious effort. We will choose small, regular doses of movement warming and nourishing, helping us enter the day with greater focus and readiness for action. We will treat movement as a daily energy boost short and specific, which warms us, helps us awaken, and enter the day with greater clarity.
    • Referring to the concept of "Movement to the Future," we will approach dance as a form of self-care and shared, analogue being. The goal will be a practice that improves circulation, clarifies thoughts, and alleviates everyday tensions, while simultaneously developing fitness and endurance.
  • The starting point will be methods derived from postmodern contemporary dance, release techniques, and improvisation. We will focus on movement based on flow, working with weight, breath, and relationship to gravity. We will strengthen the body through precision, economy of effort, and conscious distribution of energy, developing stability, mobility, and core activity. We will work solo, in duos, and in groups, learning to be mindful of ourselves and others in our space. Morning exercise will become a form of physical and mental hygienea regular practice that organizes, strengthens, and supports daily functioning.
