Grace (Jennifer Lawrence) and Jackson (Robert Pattinson) move into a secluded house, where they are soon to welcome their first child. Their new life turns out to be far more difficult than they expected. Spending long days alone with the baby, Grace begins to exhibit increasingly strange behavior. Uncontrollable waves of desire, irrational fear, and even aggression introduce growing chaos into their family life. As Grace’s grasp on reality gives way to wild fantasies, it becomes clear that something deeply disturbing is happening to her.
