Anna decides to get together with Mark, who is somewhat older than her and arouses distrust in the local community. The more facts prove against the man, the more fervently Anna defends him, knowing that in the process she is also fighting for the right to live her own way. A Piece of Sky is not only a tribute to female strength and a touching tale of love. Director Michael Koch’s true talent lies in his ability to balance the serious tone with refreshing mockery, which makes the film turn at times into a chronicle of absurdities, with room for kitsch folklore, ‘90s pop and even Bollywood.
