Goal of the Dead
directed by Benjamin Rocher, Thierry Poiraud, France 2014, 140'
- There is nothing strange in mixing two movie genres together – horror and comedy – but it is unusual for zombies to play football. The dying star of a Parisian team is going to his hometown to play against the local team. However, the greeting he receives from his former schoolmates and friends is more than he bargained for. The French movie – which, like a football match, is divided into two parts – is not just a satire of football culture and its fans. Like many zombie movies, it is an echo of the social unrest that often manifests in the streets of France.
