The Prince and the Dybbuk
[Książę i dybuk], directed by Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski, Poland 2017, 82' (English friendly)
The Prince and the Dybbuk is a film journey in the footsteps of Michał Waszyński, the author of many well-known pre-war films with Eugeniusz Bodo, director of the mystical, Jewish Dybbuk, and producer of Hollywood hits with Sofia Loren and Claudia Cardinale. The film of Niewiera and Rosołowski tries to unravel the mystery of Waszyński, who in his life often changed his identity and wrote his biography anew. The people who had the opportunity to meet him, remembered him as a distinguished aristocrat, a notorious liar, a Jew of eternal wandering, as well as a homosexual but also husband of the Italian countess – all in one person.
