Horizon
All these gestures seem innocent, yet they continue to shape the lives of women in Poland. Zuzia, the first in her family not want a church wedding. She is going on a journey through time, passing by more archetypes of women, family weddings and her parents' divorce.
In a small village in eastern Poland, next to Zuzia's family home stands Włodzimierz Puchalski's cottage. The filmmaker-naturalist filmed his neighbours' wedding in the 1970s, just as he had filmed birds all his life. The 35mm tape from his wedding gift lay at the bottom of Uncle Mietek and Aunt Bożena's wardrobe until nine years ago, when the filmmaker found it. For nine years, the director returned to the small village, to Zuzia, watching her growing up, exploring and changing her views. Now she is almost an adult and plays a folk wedding march for herself.
