For the first time in the Na żywo series, we invite you to a meeting with a music artist. Our guest will be Agata PLK Polak – an intermedia creator, sound designer, music producer and researcher working at the intersection of art, technology and science.
-
Agata PLK Polak explores sound as a living ecosystem – from digital sonic landscapes and acoustic ecology to bioart and immersive 3D environments. In her projects, she draws on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and sonic anomaly mapping, creating compositions that balance club energy with experimental poetics. She moves fluidly across genres, resonating with both club culture and socially engaged art.
-
In 2025, she graduated with distinction from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, presenting Mycosphere 3.0, a project in which fungal mycelium becomes a model for an alternative, bio-intelligent data-processing system. Her practice grows out of a fascination with ecology, speculative narratives and queer methodologies of perceiving reality.
-
- As a co-creator of the Castello Bizzarro festival, held at the castle in Będzin, and the Zgrzyt project, she has for years supported and promoted the independent music scene, consistently breaking genre and cultural boundaries. She is also the co-founder of Nerdka, a grassroots artistic research collective exploring digital art and the social impact of emerging technologies from queer and feminist perspectives.
-
Her works have been shown at the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, CCA Ujazdowski Castel, BWA Bielsko-Biała, Floating University in Berlin and The Posthumanities Hub at Linköping University in Stockholm; she has also taken part in festivals such as Audio Art and Sanatorium of Sound. She currently runs an experimental music studio and an intermedia workshop at Apteka Designu.

{Live}
- Every week, we meet live with artists to talk about art: creative processes, works, and current experiences.
- We host both artists who have previously taken part in Ujazdowski Castle’s programme and those making their debut. In this series, we would like to focus on individual approaches and artistic practices.
- Why take part?
- The events will be recorded for archival purposes, and the recordings will be made available online through the Mediateka.
- In times of tensions and crises, thinking and talking together about contemporary art – which responds to today’s challenges in unconventional ways – helps strengthen social resilience. Art is not only the object – just as important are the process, the thinking, the emotions, and the relationships that accompany it. The meetings offer a closer look at how art is created and, most importantly, who creates it.
- Every week, we meet live with artists to talk about art: creative processes, works, and current experiences.
- The meetings are open to everyone, from people working professionally in culture and art, to those who are curious about artists and their work, or simply want to talk about art.
- We do our best to make the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art accessible to everyone – we would like to adapt the event to you and your needs. To help us do that, please contact our accessibility coordinator: dostepnosc@u-jazdowski.pl, no later than the Monday before the event.
