Mobile Texts
Performative event and premiere of choreographic paper
Mobile Texts is a newspaper created since 2020 by choreographers. Grassroots, independent, and non-budget, ten issues have been published so far. The newspaper features artists’ words, poems, text graphics, drawings, notes, and textual choreographies. Aleksandra Borys and Andrzej Woźniak, its founders, make the pages available to other artists working in Poland just as bodies are given space to move. The newspaper therefore acts as a platform that, on the one hand, gives voice to movement practitioners, enabling dialogue and exchange of experiences between them, and on the other hand contributes to the popularization of choreographic activities as a field of art, educating viewers. Mobile Texts collects and archives contemporary trends in experimental choreography.
The event, organized as part of the series Opening Up!, will see the launch of a special issue in which all previously published texts will appear in printed form. Their authors will meet for the first time in one place to celebrate the texts together, weaving them into movement in space. After the performative event, there will be refreshments and a conversation with the artists.
Participating in the event: Maria Stokłosa, Mary Szydłowska, Weronika Pelczyńska, Karolina Kraczkowska, Alicja Czyczel, Magda Fejdasz, Tamara Olga Briks, Kinga Jaczewska, Mona Rena, sos Osowska, Andrzej Woźniak, Aleks Borys
