- What would happen if the invitation to organize an exhibition in an art institution was not decided by curators, but by winning a sports tournament? We don’t know and we want to find out. That’s why we are going beyond the rules of the game and instead of announcing an open call, evaluating the submitted proposals, and selecting the best projects, we are announcing, together with the Artistic Sports Association (Zuzanna Stempska, Marcin Pietrucin, Mateusz Hadaś), a sports competition for artists.
- During the three days in November, we will transform the gallery space into a sports hall. Dress code: trainers and tracksuits. The chosen disciplines are not complicated, most of them remembered from childhood: chairs, baba yaga, basket toss, jump over a buck, obstacle course, badminton, archery, ping-pong and others.
- The winner will show his or her work in a solo exhibition at the castle in the coming year. The Artistic Sports Association is a collective of artists who want to bring art and sport together, aiming to build a community around sporting activities and fairplay. As part of the Opening Up! call, they have submitted original sports competitions, which the collective intends to be both fun and competitive.
