Jakub Woynarowski
(b. 1982) – the artist studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts and the Interdepartmental Intermedia Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and is currently a lecturer in the Narrative Drawing Workshop at his alma mater. Woynarowski is a designer and illustrator, graphic artist, comic book artist as well as the creator of artbooks, visual atlases, films and installations. He has initiated site-specific actions in public spaces and is an independent curator ("Quadratum Nigrum, Body in the Library"; "Orbis Pictus", "White cubes / Black holes"). Furthermore, he is the co-founder of the gonzo curatorial projects (including CCA Wawel Castle within the 4th ArtBoom Festival); author of the books Manggha and The Story of Gardens; visual editor of the "Wunderkamera. The Cinema of Terry Gilliam" and "Corpus Delicti". Jakub Woynarowski is the author of projects on the boundaries of theory and artistic practice. He tackles issues associated with institutional criticism, Avant-guard archaeology, as well as posthumanistic philosophy. Collaborated with, amongst others, TVP Kultura, Canal +, NCK, Museum of Art in Łódź, National Museum in Kraków, Conrad Festival, Polish Radio Choir, MIK, Manggha Centre of Japanese Art and Technology, Bunker of Art Gallery, and the Ha!art Corporation. The artist lives and works in Kraków.
